Back rehearsing ESPN’s annual award show at the Microsoft Theater at LA Live. It’s another year filled with inspirational stories that will have you reaching for a tissue and your tennis shoes at the same time.
It’s been a year (whaaaat?!) since I started writing comedy profe$$ionally. Since then, I’ve been asked to punch up stand-up sets, speeches, and presentations, write video scripts, radio spots, and TV commercials, compose parody song lyrics, conjure up greeting cards, rewrite cartoons, and yeah, write funny.
My day to day has changed in all sorts of ways, including, but not limited to, the addition of coffee and sweatpants. All of this (including the sweatpants) is still sinking in. The internet turned out to be an ice cream counter after all, but only when I stopped asking it to be. There’s some sort of wisdom in there but… wait, there’s ice cream?
Closing out another season. Work is great, but working with friends is better.
The guest list for this event was truly surreal, from Ava Duvernay to Nancy Pelosi to Cher. Pretty sure Six Degrees of Kevin Bacon just became obsolete.
Also, this hallway.
Fun with friends.
Season 2 (ABC).
Wiltern Theatre – American Idol All Star Duets
Backstage for #61!
Just got an invite to write for Pitch, the Funny or Die comedy writers app! I’m excited for the opportunity to join this community of comedy professionals, and to see where it may lead.
Back at the Beverly Hilton to rehearse #76.
Merry Christmas, everyone!
